School photos were taken on Aug. 20, but for students who missed Picture Day, Oct. 1 will be retake day. If students have already gotten their photos, buying photos will also be possible on that day.
“Retakes are only for if you’ll be buying photos or if you were absent on the day of taking photos,” Assistant Principal Kristen Hughes said. “They’ll be in the commons.”
When it is time for the retakes, some people will be questioning what they will have to do before or during that day to be able to retake their school photo. If students plan to buy photos, they can go to room 138 to fill out a form. If a student was absent and still needs a photo taken, they will get a pass to go to the Commons to get it taken.
“If you are retaking photos if you were absent, I would give you a pass to come down and take your photo,” Hughes said. “Otherwise, you’d have to fill out a form at Room 138.”
There are some other reasons why having a school photo is important, while they are not important reasons they could matter to some students.
“It allows you to be in Yearbook,” Hughes said. “And you will be able to show your parents the new school photo.”
Having a student I.D. is essential for student life even after the school day is over. It is necessary for students to enter after-school activities such as clubs, sports and other events. It also lets staff know that they are from Benson.
