A new addition to the baseball team’s preparation for next season is involving weightlifting, which shows dramatic improvements in both communication and team morale come spring.
Turning a new leaf with new Head Coach Carl Bray, the Bunnies are working towards a better season.
“Focus on weight training now and baseball later,” team captain senior Dylan Marshall said. “Weightlifting was desperately needed to enhance the team.”
Marshall has been spearheading practice after school.
It is important to allow the body to be familiar with the intense exercises before a big game. Stretching also plays a huge part in ways that will improve gameplay.
“The coach wants us to work out so we won’t be sore the next day; stretching will help prepare your body for lifting and prevent injuries,” Marshall said.
In addition, an athlete must have a healthy diet to prepare for upcoming practices and games.
“Coach’s methods started to strengthen our bodies, so when the season comes around, we’ll be in shape and conditioned,” Marshall said.
