As students pass middle school and into high schools, there are fewer opportunities for hands on fun, and more educational opportunities such as going on college tours. Why do you think that? Or more so, why doesn’t Benson hold the same fun activity field trips?
In grade school, students can find out skills, have fun, and have opportunities to learn through the fun. Shown through studies, Field trip groups tend to have higher course grades, were absent less, and have fewer behavioral infractions. These field trips show beneficial fundamentals through hands on activities, reinforce cultural growth and personal development. Also, it contributes to the development of students’ knowledge of art. Since most grade school field trips would contribute to going to museums, zoos, botanical gardens, and/or historical sites.
Shifting to Middle school from elementary, there is less time for field trips, with the funds depending on the school, and time teachers have, as well as students. But most times, there are field trips going to college tours. It has limited slots and is available for students who have good attendance and behavioral excellence.
High school also has the same expectations. Most field trips are academic activities that involve learning and attending college tours. Separating it as well with different grades. Freshmen college tour, Sophomore and Junior college tour, and Seniors college tour.
There are also academies who hold field trips depending on which academies and classes students are in, giving students different field trip opportunities.
School days tend to get more repetitive and boring, field trips bring out the fun in them and get students more going and inspired to learn more. The things you can’t learn in classrooms, quality field trips change that. For example, going to fun and educational museums can boost the mind’s intelligence and learning. It is as simple as going out of class and learning stuff, that can boost mindsets and learn more social skills.
