School traditions, school tradition are the elements of school culture that goes on through time, here at Benson they have past traditions, a current traditions, and some now ones.
A few of Bensons past traditions were the Bunny Tracks Talent Show, Senior picnic, and the Football student section. They had huge tradition like the MLK assembly dedicated to Martin Luther King, going up to the cupola to write your name and graduation year.
Senior Pranks were a big thing back then, one year they put bleach in water guns, came in the school and sprayed people with them turning their cloths different colors. Then all that died down in the following years, the current traditions are the main ones that that will never leave like the Homecoming parade, and the prep rally.
The homecoming parade is huge, a-lot of staff and students volunteer to participate in the event. The staff decorate their vehicles nicely and a few of them bring out their nice-looking mustangs.
They block the streets so the parade participants can walk and drive on the path. Each academy and club does Something during the parade, the culinary class that’s apart of the business academy passes out business candy to the kids on the sidewalk.
The prep rally is for the students to interact, have fun, and enjoy the event. During the prep rally they have teachers vs students basketball games and dance offs, and maybe a pie in the face. Senior sports photos and school pictures are also school traditions too even if they don’t seem like it .
