In the bustling halls of Benson High School, whispers of excitement fill the air as 30 fortunate students anticipate an upcoming adventure. On Thursday, March 7, they are set to attend the Inclusive Communities ACTion Workshop at UNO, a day promising self-discovery, lively activities, and discussions delving into the impact of identity on navigating the world.
As the day unfolds, students will share experiences, brainstorm ideas, and contribute to the ongoing effort to make their school and community more inclusive. Beyond this, 10 standout participants will be selected for a deeper dive into the Inclusive Communities experience – the 4-day IncluCity Retreat in April. This overnight retreat, guided by Ms. Cameron and Ms. Reed, offers a unique space for students to challenge stereotypes, build cross-cultural bonds, and emerge as allies for each other.
So, within the walls of Benson High School, a transformative journey is set to begin. Embracing diversity, challenging biases, and forging lasting connections – the Inclusive Communities adventure awaits these students!
