On Jan 30, 2024, science teacher Hunter Jacobs took her students to see the science fair in King Science. The seventeen students she took served as judges for the fair.
They judge the Middle schoolers based on their presentation and research. They judge the Middle schoolers based on their presentation and research. They looked at the Conclusions, data, graph, hypothesis, Control variables, purpose, etcetera.
“I feel like it was a great opportunity because I use to go to that school and going back to judge for the science far made me feel like I come so far and going back there made me feel happy.” Toy paw started.
Judges graded them based on how good or how much their information is, and how the students present and their professionalism.
Judges were given a device to use and scan a form, on how they can judge the students.
The students were placed in rows and had the judges judge them. Other staff adults and Omaha North students were there to judge.
“We look at the students project and we grade them on how they present it and how the project looked.” Hsa Tew said. “I looked at their project and give them stars on how well they do”
This was an opportunity for these Benson students to experience and judge students from King Science Middle school.
“It felt fun, but it was kind of hard because I didn’t know what to ask the kids. I go from presentation to presentation, but I got used to it” Tew said.
“It was new to me because I have never judged anything ever in my life, so judging there was kind of hard. I didn’t know what to do, but the material to judge them on made it easier to judge. Like their speech, their project, and their board.” Paw said.
