City Council continues mask mandate
October 5, 2020
On Sept. 15, the mask mandate was to expire. Omaha’s mask requirement has been extended until Oct 20 because Omaha COVID-19 cases have raised from 7.4% to 9.5%.
August was the month the mask mandate started. Any individual or entity which maintains premises open to the public requires all individuals age five and older to wear a face covering over their mouth and nose while indoors unless the individual always keeps at least 6 feet of separation.
Some people are expecting cases to rise even more because of the school reopening in October. The fine for not wearing a mask has been lowered from $100 to $25.
