Libraries reopen across town

JaVell Mapp-David, Reporter

Select Omaha Public Libraries are now reopening and are available for full service: Bess Johnson Elkhorn Branch, Charles B. Washington Branch, Millard Branch, Milton R. Abrahams Branch and Willa Cather Branch reopened on September 21. On the 28, A.V Sorensen Branch, Benson Branch, Florence Branch are going to be reopen. At this time, the remaining four are not yet ready to open.

The libraries were closed on March 16 due to COVID-19 and because of the city of Omaha budget concerns. At the time of the closing of the libraries, curbside pickup and drop-off have been an option. Patrons can make appointments online or call a local branch and reserve the books at least 24 hours in advance.
